After ruling the big screens for the longest time, Bollywood queen Kareena Kapoor Khan is all set to rule the small screens as well as she makes a stunning debut with Dance India Dance (DID), the dance reality show. Bebo's television debut is actually coming at a huge cost as she becomes the highest paid actresses on television in the country and while we cannot wait to watch her make our weekends more glamorous, in an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla, we spoke to her about her debut on TV, what took so long, television being looked down upon and more.
Citing that for her to make a television debut, the show had to be as grand as DID, Kareena said that she is nervous as well as excited for the same. She also mentioned that the format for the show has been upgraded and while others will be concentrating more on the technicalities, she will be looking out for the expressions. Not just that, when asked in particular about television being looked down upon despite its reach, Kareena expressed concern over it and said, "Absolutely, I think it is very sad that people continuously say that 'oh why you are doing TV?' but big screen actors do come on TV. Today, I mean you are watching Netflix, Amazon. You are watching shows which are in Hindi languages. What is the big deal? I mean, you have actors from Meryl Streep to Saif Ali Khan, to Shefali Shah, the whole world, everybody, Benedict Cumberbatch, we have so many great actors on TV."
Dance India Dance goes on air soon and will see Dheeraj Dhoopar as its host. Kareena will be juggling between films and shooting for the dance reality show in the coming month.
