Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya has been ruling the Television industry for over a decade now. The actor is not only popular for her roles but also for being very outspoken. Be it her woes as a regular Mumbaikar or her calling out trolls on the social media, Divyanka has always been straightforward and that is one of the reasons why her fans cannot stop gushing about her. With the MeToo movement taking the country by storm, thereby opening a floodgate of stories involving powerful men, we got in touch with Divyanka to know what is her stand on it. Many leading actresses too have come out to extend their support to those who have been courageous enough to tell their stories.

Divyanka, who is herself a great champion of women empowerment, said, "I think its great that women are finally standing up and voicing what they have been through.  We need to tell our daughters to speak up, our sisters not to hide and that if someone is approaching you for something you aren't comfortable with, SPEAK UP!  The worst thing we can do is keep a crime hidden, let the world know about it and let those who are doing wrong suffer the consequences of their own actions!"

When asked if she thinks the Television industry is well equipped to ensure women safety on sets given the number of women who work in the small screen industry especially, Divyanka added, "I think television that way is a comfortable industry and since its a female dominated industry, most actresses have learned to ensure their own safety. I don't think its about the industry as much as about knowing as a woman how to safeguard yourself regardless of what career you have chosen or where you stay."

The movement took pace in India after former Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta reiterated about the harassment incident which allegedly happened with her on the sets of Horn Ok Pleass. Since then many names have come to the forefront including Kailash Kher, Zulfi Syed, Rajat Kapoor, Vikas Bahl.
