EXCLUSIVE: Alok Nath's Bidaai co star Vibha Chibber says, 'Why was Vinta Nanda quiet for so long?'
Alok Nath's Bidaai co-star Vibha Chibber says, she is extremely shocked hearing the allegations made against Nath. Read her statement.
With the MeToo movement taking over India, the one which has shocked everyone is that of Alok Nath, who has been a popular name in Bollywood and Television. The actor has been alleged to have sexually harassed Vinta Nanda, Tara producer, whilst they worked not the show together, 20 years back. The producer took to Facebook to open up about the incident and said that she is finally happy that she could let this out of her chest. Alok in his statement has said that "it is a figment of her imagination."
Not just Vinta, since then two more women have come out to accused Nath of sexual harassment. We contacted Vibha Chibber, who worked with Alok in the hit show Bidaai, who said that she is very much "shocked" hearing all this. "I have also heard about the allegations. He is from NSD and was my senior there and he is really a very good co-star. I learnt so many things from him that I was literally shocked when I heard this. I really have no words on how to react, what to say."
She added, "I have worked with him for three and a half years in Badaai and we are still in touch with the whole team. We party sometimes together the entire night, in his house or mine or others. I have never seen him misbehave. I am really shocked."
She, however, did question why Vinta Nanda did not approach the police the time the incident happened and why now? She questioned, "I don't know what happened 20 years back, it is a long gap. Why was she quiet for so long? Why is she saying now? Maybe I don't know, if she is right or wrong but right now I am really shocked. Since past 10 years I know him and his wife, he is thorough gentleman to us."
