Ekta Kapoor shares a nostalgic throwback video as her first TV show Hum Paanch completes 24 years; Watch

TV producer Ekta Kapoor shared a video on her Instagram page of her first television show Hum Paanch and brought back the good ol' feels.

The 90s show had a simple storyline coupled with humour and sarcastic wit that kept the audiences glued to their television screens.

Television producer Ekta Kapoor had an epic throwback post for her followers on Tuesday. The new mommy on the block shared a video on her Instagram page of her first television show Hum Paanch and brought back the good ol' feels of tuning in to the show every evening. The 90s show had a simple storyline coupled with humour and sarcastic wit that kept the audiences glued to their television screens. It had the cast of Ashok Saraf (Anand Mathur), Priya Tendulkar (Anand's first wife), Shoma Anand (Beena Mathur), Vidya Balan (Radhika Mathur), Rakhee Tandon (Sweety Mathur), Bhairavi Raichura (Kajal Mathur), Vandana Pathak (Meenakshi Mathur) and Priyanka Mehra (Chhoti) amongst others. The show made these actors overnight stars and the sitcom is considered as one of the best comedies in Indian TV history.

While sharing the title sequence of the show, Ekta remembered how her mother Shobha Kapoor and she had conceived the idea of the show in their garage and 24 years later it still makes people smile to this day. In a heartfelt post, Ekta wrote, "On a Tuesday third week of March a small production house launched a show from an office created in a garage! A mother daughter duo started a show of a father with five daughters! 24 years later it’s still one show that makes ppl smile!"

Ekta also added, "Sorry for the bad video quality but lots was lost in the floods in 2005 July!Thanku @zeetv @punitgoenka Thanku #HUMPAANCH #twentyfouryearsofhumpaanch."
