Ekta Kapoor says she overreacted to Shweta Tiwari’s comment about casting Palak in Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2
Ekta Kapoor has once again spoken up about Shweta Tiwari's daughter Palak Tiwari being approached to play the role of Prerna in Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2. Here's what she said.
The news over the casts of Ekta Kapoor’s Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, has been much hyped. Recently, reports had emerged that Palak Tiwari was approached to step into her mother’s shoes to play the lead role of Prerna in the upcoming Kasautii Zindagi Kay reboot. While speaking to Hindustan Times, Shweta had said that she was indeed approached for the role but she turned it down. "Yes, I would have told her to go ahead and do it. In fact, everybody was saying, even from Balaji (production house) that she should do it. It was she who said ‘No mom, I don’t think I can do a daily soap and work day in and day out. I cannot do that at this point in time," she said.
To which Ekta Kapoor, who is a close friend of Shweta, reacted to the news on Twitter and wrote, "Aaah reaaaaaly?????????? How come I don’t know?"
However, in a recent interview, Ekta Kapoor talking about the incident, the director has said that “Frankly, I don’t want to comment on this. That child is like my child only. I overreacted to the post. I always react before I think. If Shweta is saying that, maybe she is right. I have seen Palak since she was so small”.
Talking about Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, the show is Ekta Kapoor’s sequel to her one of the most popular shows, Kasautii Zindagii Kay. The show featured Shweta Tiwari, Cezzane Khan and Ronit Roy in lead roles. Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 will see Erica Fernandez essaying the role of Prerna. Ekta recently shared the first teaser which was the title song of the show with Erica in it. The teaser has created a buzz among the viewers who are eagerly waiting for the show.
