Ekta Kapoor: I will not remake Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi without Smriti Irani

Ekta Kapoor is the queen of the television industry. If there's one person who has the biggest list of successful shows, well it's only Ekta. She has been ruling the hearts of the Indian audience with her shows since the 90s. In the 2000s, Kapoor gave the audience some interesting family dramas and love stories like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kkusum, Kasautii Zindagii Kay to name a few. Even after so many years, these shows and their characters are still etched in the minds of the audience.
Kapoor recently brought back her popular show Kasautii Zindagii Kay with a brand new cast. In the first seasons, actors Shweta Tiwari, Cezanne Khan, Ronit Roy and Urvashi Dholakia played the lead roles. In Kasautii Zindagii Kay reboot, Erica Fernandez and Parth Samthaan in the lead roles. In an interview with Mid Day, when Ekta Kapoor was asked why she remade Kasautii and not Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, she answered, "As a story, Kasautii worked far better. It is something I've always wanted to remake. Plus, I will not remake Kyunki without Smriti Irani, and she won't do it!"
Meanwhile, the audience is excited for Komolika's entry on the show. Hina Khan will be playing the iconic villain in Kasautii Zindagii Kay. Neither Ekta or Hina confirmed the news. However, Urvashi said in an interview recently that Hina Khan will be seen as the new Komolika.
