Drashti Dhami: I would love to play a negative character in Naagin 3
Television actor Drashti Dhami has made a comeback on the small screen with a show titled Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka which focuses on the issues like domestic violence. The show also stars Shakti Arora, Abhinav Shukla and Aditi Sharma.
Television actor Drashti Dhami won the hearts of the viewers immediately when she had first appeared on the popular show Dil Mill Gaye. She became immensely popular for her role in the show.
After her last show Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil, she has now returned to the small screen with yet another intriguing show titled Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka.
The show highlights the toxicity of marriages and brings up the issue of domestic violence. It had grabbed a lot of eyeballs already when it had dropped its first trailer. The show aired on Colors TV on June 4, 2018.
In an interview with DNA, she discussed about her comeback show elaborately. When asked about why did she take up such a submissive role after her stints in serials like Madhubala and Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil, where she had played the role of a strong, independent woman, she said that she found the concept very different and challenging from the roles that she had played earlier.
She explained that she likes to challenge herself with new roles and characters so that she can evolve and stand out.
When asked about shows like Khatron Ke Khiladi, she said, "It’s a fun show. I would love to do it but only the stunt part of it. I get really scared of creepy-crawlies. I am a vegetarian so I won’t be able to do it if they give me something to eat."
When she was questioned about whether she would be interested in playing a negative role in a show like Naagin, she said that she would definitely do it and won't mind at all.
When asked about web-series in India, she said that she is not comfortable with it and hence, hasn't explored that section yet.
She also thanked her fans for their immense love and support towards her and her work and said that things like these motivate her to work harder.
