Drashti Dhami completes 11 years in the industry; a walk down the memory lane on her best characters
Drashti Dhami completes 11 years in the industry. Here's a look back at three of the best characters played by her.
Drashti Dhami who forayed into the Television industry in 2007 with the cult show Dill Mill Gayye completes 11 years today. Even though Drashti made her debut with a music video followed by a number of ads, it is her character as Dr. Muskaan which got her immense popularity. But, Drashti bagged her first lead role in Gul Khan's Geet Hui Sabse Parayi where she played the titular role. Her popularity soared to another level with Geet and since then it has been no looking back for the gorgeous actress.
From playing a bubbly Muskaan and Geet to playing Madhubala, an intense character to playing Nandini in Silsila, Drashti has experimented with her roles quite a bit and we pick our three favourites:
1. Geet Handa: Drashti as Geet exuded vulnerability and confidence. She could be funny at one given second and equally intense the other. Her chemistry with co-star Gurmeet Chaudhary was one of the biggest highlights for the show along with her taking on pregnancy before marriage. Characters will come and go but Drashti as Geet was one of our favourites.
2. Madhubala: Ek Ishq Ek Junoon: Drashti played the titular role in this intense romantic saga as well. Her simplistic look and strength made Madhubala a character worth remembering. Drashti made sure to add her spunk to the character with her chemistry with Vivian Dsena doing wonders on the small screens.
3. Nandini: Though Drashti left the character midway and also received a lot of flak for it, but Nandini will be remembered as one of the boldest characters played onscreen. No one does vulnerability and fierceness like Drashti. As a damsel in an abusive relationship, Drashti managed to bring in a lot of sympathy. She played the "second woman" in the show and despite all the flak, she managed to stand out.
