The entire television industry is mourning the loss of actor Kavi Kumar Azad aka Dr. Hathi from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Reports suggest that he passed away due to a cardiac arrest.

Co-star Dilip Joshi, who plays the role of Jethalal in the same show gave an interview to the Times of India. He said that he is shocked and is unable to come to terms with the news. The actor is currently in London with his family. He said, "I am shocked with the news and it is absolutely saddening. I learned about it from my team members. I am in London with my family. When the incident happened, I started getting calls from fellow actors. I still can’t believe that he is no more."

Reminiscing about his good times with the late actor, Dilip said, "He was amazing to work with and a happy-go-lucky person. He was always very positive and kept everyone happy on the sets. He always came for the shoot, whatever might be the circumstances. He was the laughing Buddha on our set."

Talking about his experience with the actor, Joshi shared, "Though everyone had their personal make-up rooms, three-four of us like Bhide, Popatlal, Hathi Bhai and me, we used to gather in a common room and chat a lot, before or between the shots. We had some amazing time and he will truly be missed. He had the habit of sending me a good morning message every day and he had been doing this for a long time. He religiously followed it and I also made sure to reply him. It did not matter to him whether I am in the same country or not, he always sent me a good morning message. Like every day, yesterday also he sent me a message and I replied to him. May God give his family strength."

Dilip Joshi will return to India on July 16, and said that he will go and meet late Kavi's family immediately after coming back.
