Saumya Tandon is in love with Turkey.
Saumya Tandon of Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai actress was in a for a nightmare when she was literally robbed in Turkey. The actress experienced a shock of her life when she realised she has been robbed. But after the news spread like wildfire, it seems the Turkish police came out to help the beauty in distress.
Saumya said, "After the Turkish police read and heard about the news of theft, the Turkish Tourism police found my hotel and waited for me for 10 hours because I was out, took me to the areas I went that day and then took me to the police station to register my case. They were so sweet that they also helped me buy Baklava, the Turkish sweets and dropped me back to the hotel. They also said they will drop me to the airport and will make sure that I am back safe. They were so efficient and prompt, they have left me bowled over. Many incidents have happened to me while visiting various countries but I have never witnessed this kind of concern and efficiency by the police. Turkey is setting standards of how the countries should treat and care for their tourists. They were actually very hurt that this all is bringing them a bad reputation, the entire city has shaken up. Their media also covered. The head of the consulate came to the airport to meet me."
According to reports, Saumya was robbed of 1000 Euros in Turkey. It began with the cabbie telling her that he has to rush and even screamed at her, while she was hunting her purse for change. Suddenly, he stopped the car in the middle of the road and that's when Saumya realised that he hadn't even started the meter. As soon as Saumya gave him the Euros, he said that they were 'wrong money' which got Saumya perplexed as both Euros and Lira, as a currency work in Turkey. As soon as Saumya opened her purse that had Euros, the cabbie put his hand in the purse and distracted her by screaming and honking. When he left, Saumya checked her purse and realised that a thousand euros were stolen. The actress was on a much-awaited vacation with her husband, Saurabh Devendra Singh in Turkey. She has filed a complaint with the police and hopes things will get sorted soon.
