Salman Khan has been sentenced to 5-year imprisonment by the Jodhpur Sessions Court in connection with the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. The actor has already entered the Central Jail and has moved a bail application. The decision about the same will be made tomorrow morning.
In the meantime, fans and industry friends have been sending out tweets expressing their support to the superstar. Rakhi Sawant, who has known Salman for quite some time, reacted to the verdict saying that she is sure the actor will be out soon.
"I have worked with Salman Khan a lot. Salman Khan is the star and jaan of Bollywood. I am unable to understand what happened, everyone else was allowed to walk free while Salman paid price for his stardom. It is complete harassment," she said.
She added, "There is no jail build for Salman Khan. No one can put him in the jail for long. He has full support from Bollywood, politicians and fans."
Meanwhile, Shilpa Shine, who won Bigg Boss 11, also came out in support for the superstar on Twitter. She wrote, "How many tigers have been poached and what's the status of Justice on that. How many jungles have been cut down in the name of development, isn't it leading to wildlife killing.
Punishing a good human being is not acceptable."
"Punishing a good human being is not acceptable. Animal poaching is ever increasing, jungles are cut in the name of urban development, isn't it leading to wildlife killing, who will be punished for that?" she added.
For those unaware, in the year 1998, Salman Khan along with his Hum Saath Saath Hai co-stars Tabu, Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre and Neelam were accused of poaching blackbucks while shooting in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
