Balika Vadhu's Jagya aka Shashank Vyas to be a part of Roop - Mard Ka Naya Swaroop
Balika Vadhu's Shashank Vyas will be seen as the grown-up Roop in the show Roop- Mard Ka Naya Swaroop after a 12 years leap.
Colors' new show Roop - Mard Ka Naya Swaroop opened to a good review. The show is a story of an 8-year-old boy Roop who questions the patriarchal beliefs in the society. While his father Shamsher Singh is trying to make the young Roop his macho and chauvinist reflection, Roop, on the other hand, is benevolent and doesn’t think in the same way.
Following this, the show will witness a 12-year leap highlighting a new phase in Roop’s life and how he will change the perception of the defined role of man in the society. Balika Vadhu fame Shashank Vyas, best known for his famous character ‘Jagya' from Balika Vadhu, will be seen as the grown-up Roop. Joining him will be the beautiful Donal Bhist as Roop’s love interest Ishika.
Commenting on his character and the show Shashank Vyas said, "I always choose to play a role that is distinctive and one that has an impact. The shows bold and hard-hitting concept is what got me to take it up. Gender stereotypes need to be spoken about in order to bring a change and I'm honoured that COLORS and Rashmi Sharma Telefilms has given me this opportunity.”
On the other hand, Donal Bisht said, "I am really excited to work in a show like Roop - Mard Ka Naya Swaroop that brings out the conversation on an impending issue like gender stereotype. I strongly believe that be it a woman or a man, everyone has a right to choose their own path without being judged. I am super excited about this new opportunity and I can't wait to begin."
