Ankita Lokhande is having a wonderful year so far. The actress made her debut in Bollywood with Kangana Ranaut’s epic biographical period drama Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. The film, which is based on the life on Jhansi’s Rani Lakshmi Bai, saw Kangana in the titular role. Ankita left fans and critics impressed with her character of JhalkariBai, a soldier in the women's army of Rani Lakshmibai who later became one of the most prominent advisors to the queen.
The actress has worked hard over the years to become one of the most well-known names of the television industry. She began her career as a contestant on a talent-hunt reality show and went on to work in Ekta Kapoor's 2009 romantic-drama series Pavitra Rishta opposite ex-boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput. According to the buzz, before making her debut with Manikarnika, Ankita was also a part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's superhit Padmaavat, however she opted out of the film as she was not ready.
