Barun Sobti on his film Satra Ko Shaadi Hai: I doubt it's ever going to come out
Barun Sobti and Sapna Pabbi speak about their film Satra Ko Shaadi Hai.
Barun Sobti will be making his comeback on TV with the third instalment of his popular show Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon. The actor was missing from TV after he went on to pursue a career in Bollywood.
The actor had shot for John Abraham's production project Satra Ko Shaadi Hai, however, the film never really show the daylight in theatres. The film starred Barun Sobti and Sapna Pabbi in the lead. However, the duo has now hinted that the film has perhaps been shelved.
Talking to a leading daily, Barun said, "I don't exactly know the status of that film, but I doubt it's ever going to come out. I finished shooting for it long ago."
While his co-star Sapna said, "Earlier, I used to follow up with the director [Arshad Sayed] and the production house to find out the status of the film, but gave up after a point. Now it's too late, no? We had a lot of fun shooting, but I don't know the current status."
Earlier the film was scheduled to release in 2015 and was supposed to be co-produced by UTV-Disney. However, sources claim after the company folded up its Bollywood production arm, John apparently failed to arrange for funds for its release.
Coming to Barun, talking about his character in the show, Barun told a leading daily, "Though my character is called Advay Raizada he has nothing to do with Arnav Raizada (the character he played in the first one). My character is more of an anti-hero with a tragic past. He is the kind who doesn’t like to hold back. Some of the things may not be favorable, but he goes ahead and does them. There’s a dark side to him."
