Reema Lagoo who is known as one of the best onscreen moms with movies like Hum Saath Saath Hai and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai as well as TV Shows like Tu Tu Main Main and Naamkarann, sadly passed away today due to a cardiac arrest.

When we got in touch Viraf Patel, who played Reema's onscreen son in Naamkarann, an emotional Viraf had just come back from the late actress' house.

We asked him how her family was doing and he revealed, "I just left her house right now. Her daughter, at least she seems that she's intact. I just wish that they go through this period of grief."

The shooting for the show was cancelled today as the entire team went to her house. He said,  "Yeah, it was so heartening to see the whole team there. The character she played was such an important part of Naamkarann, it unites all of us. The AD's were crying because she would scold them with a lot of love. Everybody had their fondness for her."

He spoke about his onscreen mom fondly and said, "What a lovely woman and what a legacy or work she has left behind for all of us to admire and be inspired by. I feel a sense of good fortune that I got to be her last onscreen son."

He added, "It doesn't get better than Reema Ji for your mom. I'm grateful to Bhatt (Mahesh) Sahab for giving me an opportunity because apart from being the most loved mom in the country which everybody knows, there's a very childlike feel still alive in her. She had a childlike approach to many things which was very pure. She was purest by heart. She would ask for rehearsals when we started out when it would be a crunch situation, she would move. She would make light of forgetting her lines because of age or something like that. When I would be uncertain I would ask her that 'Are you thinking I'm okay doing this?' and she would be like 'Yeah, yeah! This is okay or maybe 'I like it this way.'"

What are the memories he will remember of her and Viraf replied, "There are so many. I recall that we had a bit of a tiff. I was fortunate enough to have it resolved and she said, 'Viraf, let's make a new beginning' and I'm glad that we had that sharing because if that had not happened I would feel extremely regretful."
