Not Bani J but Ira Dubey to recreate Angelina Jolie's Queen Olympias on TV?
Ira Dubey to replace Bani J in the upcoming show Porus.
Bigg Boss contestant Bani J to make her full-fledged debut with Porus took the internet by storm recently. According to reports, Bani was all set to venture into the historical genre on TV. She had been roped in to play Queen Olympias, Alexander The Great's mother, in Siddharth Kumar Tewary's 'Porus'. It was said that she would recreate the role of Queen Olympias that was originally essayed by Angelina Jolie in the Hollywood film, 'Alexander'. The producer had even confirmed to a daily, "Bani fits the role perfectly. She will join the cast for rehearsals and workshops soon."
But it seems the makers changed their minds and have roped in Ira Dubey of Aisha fame replacing Bani. The actress is yet to sign the dotted lines, but things have been finalized. Ira will be playing the mother to Rohit Purohit's character, Alexander. Bani had posted a picture of herself reading a few scripts. She posted a picture of her hand covering the screen of her laptop on Snapchat. The picture was captioned as, 'Green smoozie and script reading time. Bani who was last seen on the 10th season of the hit reality show Bigg Boss, won hearts of many with her stint on the show. She was seen as a fiercely strong lady who did not hesitate to call spade a spade.
While talking to us post the Grand Finale of BB10, Bani had spoken of how she was going to miss the BB house. "Every weekend when we used to have guests from outside and the amazing food that came from Salman Sir's house, I am sure to miss all that. The guests that used to come used to give us an insight of our performances on the show. It filled me with positivity inside the house," said Bani. So will viewers get to see her doing a reality show again?! "Itna bhaari sawaal, entire 105 days just came across my mind. just joking. I donno, I don't wanna say yes, or no. If a hatke show comes across my way, Ill definitely sit down and listen to the content and then decide."
