Sabse Bade Kalakar's Mandeep Sekhon receives standing ovation from Boman Irani
Sabse Bade Kalaakar's Mandeep Sekhon perfroms an emotional act on the 98th year of Jallianwala Baug Massacre.
Sony TV’s Sabse Bada Kalaakar is captivating hearts right from its opening episode. It has chosen kids from across India who are proving to be acting prodigies.
Mandeep Sekhon from Ludhiana who is just eleven years old but seems to be winning hearts already. Her performance in Sabse Bada Kalakar blew the audience and Judges away. She performed one act on the Jallianwala Bagh massacre where she brought alive the patriotism that fueled the struggle for Independence. A source on set said “Boman Irani was so impressed that he immediately stood up to give her a standing ovation. The actor ran on stage and gave her a tight hug and said that this child is to be looked out for and that one day she shall make a name for herself. " Her monologue was not only powerful but the range of emotion that she projected during the dialogue delivery was so impactful that the audience was taken back to the day, 13TH April 1919, Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar where nearly a thousand Indian’s were slaughtered at the hands of the British. It has been 98 years to the massacre.
Sabse Bade Kalaakar has Raveena Tandon, Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani as judges. It also has Jay Bhanushali and Jamie Lever as hosts.
While talking about judging a kid's show, Raveena said, “Judging a kids’ reality show is very easy as they are very uncomplicated. For them, life is very simple — either it is black or it is white, with no hidden agenda. It has been a great and wonderful journey filming this show with them.” Talking about his association with Arshad, Boman said: “When I was 35 years old, I did a small part in a musical play and the choreographer of that play was Arshad Warsi.”
“When I got my first film after nine years ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’, two months before the start of the shooting, I got to know that even he is in the film, which got me more excited and made me happy,” Boman said, adding that he is very happy to share the screen space with Arshad once again.
