The ninth season of the hit singing reality show Indian Idol marked its end last night on a large grandeur. After three long months of anticipation and melodious performances, LV Revanth, the Manohari singer from Baahubali, emerged as the winner of Indian Idol 9.  Bagging The 1st runner-up was Khuda Baksh. The trophy was handed over by the God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar who made his TV debut on the singing reality show today. Revanth also was honoured with INR 25 lakhs.

We caught up with the star performer of the reality show, LV Revanth who was probably still yet to come to terms of winning the show.

How does it feel on winning the show?

I am very excited and happy. It was all because of the hard work and audience votes are why I am here. It was not easy to win especially not being a Hindi-sider and not being very familiar with the language. Being a South Indian guy, this win means a lot. I would like to thank my judges, fans and everyone who has supported.

How has your journey been?

My first song was Janam Janam during the audition and my final song was Janam Janam only. I guess this Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol song has been my lucky charm. I feel this song has helped me big time. But now I will learn Hindi and try to make a mark here, in Bollywood & it's not easy. In South industry, it is different there because I already have a name. But now it's time to create a name in the Bollywood team.

You have garnered fans in abundance. Who are you a fan of?

I am a huge fan of Kishore Kumar and off late Atif Aslam and Arijit Singh.

Name one Bollywood star whom you would love to lend your voice for?

I am a huge fan of Akshay Kumar and would love to sing for him.

Have you seen the promo of Baahubali 2?

Oh Yes! I am super excited. This is the most epic movie ever made. I am happy to be a part of the Baahubali family.

Did you get a chance to talk to your mentor SS Rajamouli after winning Indian Idol?

Everybody from the Baahubali team congratulated me. When I joined Indian Idol, everybody from Baahubali family wished me luck, Rajamouli sir and everybody wished that I should win.

One special moment that you will cherish for a lifetime that occurred on Indian Idol.

It was when my mother had come to see my performance on sets and I won the Golden mike. And when she came for the next time, I won the show.

Coming from Visakhapatnam, Revanth's favourite judge was Anu Malik while on Indian Idol.

Congratulations!
