Much to the delight of his fans, TV heartthrob Eijaz Khan is making a comeback on the small screen with a TV show titled ‘Yeh Moh Moh Ke Dhaage’. Set against the backdrop of Gujarat, the show will see Eijaz playing the role of a village headman. The actor has apparently put on 10 kilos to look convincing in the role.

In an interview, Eijaz was heard saying, “The character is a matured man who had to take up a lot of responsibility at a very young age. So he had to look older than his age. Additionally, in the village that I stayed, a lot of men were not lean but slightly heavy side."

And if you think it was a tough task for the actor, you’re wrong. Eijaz happily gorged on his favourite sweets to put on those extra kilos. He happily quipped, “I love sweets — favourite being gulab jamun, jalebi and chocolates. I can eat them pre-lunch, post lunch and even in between. In fact, the role was a blessing in disguise as I got to indulge my sweet tooth.”

The show derives its title from the popular song ‘Yeh Moh Moh Ke Dhaage’ from the movie Dum Laga Ke Haisha, and the channel has brought the rights from Yash Raj Studios for it. The plot of the show revolves around a mature village man seeking a bride, and a young urban girl who is helping him find a suitable girl. It will feature a unique love story set between two people from different generations.

The show will also see Benaf Dadachandji, Niyati Fatnani and Jia Mustafa playing pivotal roles alongside Eijaz.
