Jamai Raja stars not been paid their dues?
Reports are rife that Jamai Raja stars have not been paid their dues for the past five months. The producer and actors clarify.
Much to the dismay of the fans, Zee TV's Jamai Raja is going off the air in March.
Reports were rife that four actors of the show have not been paid their dues. These include Shiny Doshi, Mouli Ganguly, Sanjay Swaraj and Neelu Kohli.
The actors had apparently gone to CINTAA for help on the matter. And reports also suggested that Meenakshi Sagar who is the co-producer of the show with Ashvini Yardi has been delaying the dues.
But such is not the case according to a leading television portal.
Meenakshi cleared the air and said, "There was a meeting between CINTAA, IMPAA and the production house today and everything has been settled."
She added, "Not all the concerned actors are due for their payments yet. Sanjay Swaraj, Shiny Doshi and Mouli Ganguly are not due until March end and Neelu Kohli is not due until March or April end. The actors went to CINTAA because they wanted post dated cheques' for future payments. Every actor panics when their show is about to shut. We refused and assured them of all future payments and CINTAA and IMPAA (Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association) agreed with us and the matter was settled today."
Even Shiny dismissed the rumours and said, "Nothing of this sort has happened. The producers have been kind enough to pay us on time always."
Guess that puts rumours to rest now!
Jamai Raja started in 2014 and has created a massive fan following. It made stars out of actors like Ravi Dubey as well as Nia Sharma who left the show once the storyline took a leap.
Recently. when we spoke to Ravi he spoke about his Jamai Raja character development. He said, "I have donned close to 20 avatars, each with a different dialect, body language and look. I am truly fortunate as an actor to have this tremendous opportunity. The journey has been beautiful, full of creative adrenaline and an amazing experience. Hope the audiences like my last avatar on the show as well. I am very grateful to Zee TV, the makers of the show and my loyal audiences."
