The hit TV show Kkusum's lead protagonist actor Anuj Saxena is in a major mess. Last year in October the actor was asked to surrender before CBI by a special court in a graft case. Senior bureaucrat B K Bansal had allegedly killed himself following the constant raids, just two months after his wife and daughter committed suicide following the same issues, due to the case.

In 2016, at the time of his anticipatory bail plea, Saxena's counsel had claimed, "If I (Saxena) am in custody, my condition will be same as of Bansal. Please grant me protection from arrest. I will cooperate in the investigation." And to this, the court had said, "There are other persons also in custody in this case. Has everyone committed suicide? Everyone's case differ from person to person. CBI will take care of this."

Yesterday, Anuj finally surrendered before a Delhi court. He was asked by the Delhi High Court to surrender by February 17 i.e today. He made himself available before Special Judge Gurdeep Singh. Now in a recent development,  the Delhi Court has sent actor Anuj Saxena to a three-day police custody in connection with graft case involving Sr. bureaucrat BK Bansal & family suicide case.

The High court on February 13 had issued the direction after Saxena's lawyer decided to withdraw the anticipatory bail plea moved by him when the court said it was "not inclined to grant the relief" as the accused appeared to be the "ultimate beneficiary".

CBI stated that Anuj had a direct role in bribing Bansal. Anuj did not want to ensure that Bansal does not order an SFIO inspection against his company on charges of illegal collection of Rs 175 crore from 24,000 investors, diversion of funds to companies abroad and not filing returns on time. Bansal, who was out on bail had hung himself along with his son at their residence on September 26-27, 2016 and had left behind a suicide note alleging CBI of harassment.
