Sanjay Leela Bhansali wanted me to get into acting- Sameer Arora on his TV debut
Telly Ville is filled with handsome hunks and beautiful ladies. Joining the glam world is the dapper debutant, Sameer Arora.
Having worked as an assistant director with Sanjay Leela Bhansali on the super hit Ram Leela, Sameer is now all set for his big television debut with Zee TV's Bin Kuch Kahe.
So did his ex-boss and ace filmmaker SLB advice him on his acting career?!
Sameer shared, "Initially he sensed that I was into acting, but also that I wanted to learn the work behind screens first to understand the game better."
Sameer further said, "Apparently, he saw the fire in me. He initially had refused to let me get into direction. He had told me that when I had the personality to become an actor, according to him, I should have tried acting. I had told him that since I come from a non-filmy background, I really needed to learn the basics of an entire setup to get things right. For an actor, until you don't know the things behind the screens, the technicality, the creative aspect, it is difficult to understand what the director expects. Especially while explaining the scene, it becomes easier for the actor of he knows all of it right from the scratch."
He also added, "Sanjay sir called me to his office once and took my interview for 20-25 minutes talking about my career. So he then decided that if I wanted to pursue acting, he would guide me through."
The show, helmed by Rajshree Ojha, is all set to air from 6th February on Zee TV. It also stars Shamata Anchan.
