Popular TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee committed suicide by hanging, at her Mumbai home today. Her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh, who rushed the body to the hospital, left on the pretext of arranging flight ticket for her parents. However, Rahul did not book those tickets and to make matters worse, is nowhere to be found.
Apparently, it was Pratyusha's ex boyfriend Makrand Malhotra who came to the rescue of the family and arranged for them to get to Mumbai as soon as possible. They are currently on their way and will reach the hospital early saturday morning.
Pratyusha and Makrand ended their relationship in 2013. Pratyusha had also lodged a police complaint against Makrand after he abused her and her family.
Rahul Raj Singh finally speaks up on Girlfriend Pratyusha's Suicide
After the sad demise of TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee yesterday, there was news doing the rounds that it was her boyfriend, Rahul Raj Singh, who was the reason behind her suicide. It was believed that Rahul took her body to the hospital and was absconding since then.
However, Rahul has finally given his first statement to the police. He said, “We used to stay in a 2 bedroom flat. We had two keys; one key was with Pratyusha and the other was with me. When I entered the bedroom, I found Pratyusha hanging from the ceiling. I got very scared.”
Rahul added, “Immediately, I called the neighbours and with their help, I took her to Kokilaben Hospital. We assumed that she was alive, but she was not. I got so scared that I did not inform the police. It was the hospital authorities who informed them. After the doctor’s declaration, I called up Pratyusha’s family members and few of our close friends.”

Popular TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee, known for her role as Anandi from Balika Vadhu, committed suicide today. She passed away at the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital in Andheri. Condolences are pouring in from near and dear ones on social media, for Pratyusha.
Apparently, Pratyusha was heart-broken from her failed love affair with Rahul Raj Singh. However, more details are yet to be revealed.
Confirming the news, Mumbai police spokesperson Dhananjay Kulkarni said that the hospital has sent a report on the Jamshedpur-born actress's death.Police are investigating the probable cause that may have spurred Pratyusha to resort to the extreme step.
