Actress Rasika Duggal is all set to make an entry in Nikhil Advani's P.O.W. It is said that her character is moulded onto be one of the important ones in the show.

Titled as Shobha, she will be seen playing a single parent raising a hearing impaired child. Rasika will be joining the series when they start exploring the personal life of Vikram Singh (played by Manish Chaudhari).

We caught up with the Chutney actress to know more about the show and her role.

Here are the excerpts from the interview.

Tell us something about your character?!

In P.O.W - Bandi Yuddh Ke, I play the role of Shobha . A series of  events have happened in the past linking me with the other characters, which are already established in the show. That will all unravel as the series moves on and the plot becomes even richer.

How was your experience on working with Nikhil Advani?

Nikhil is such a comfortable director to work with. He is fully invested and always alert to an actor's needs. I enjoy shooting with him a lot.

Why did you take up POW?

I was excited about the story and about working with Nikhil Advani. Story and Director - Two very good reasons to take on a project!

Anything special you had to do for the role's preparation?

I play a single mother raising a hearing impaired child. She wants to encourage her child to speak and lip read rather than use sign language. I spent some time in a school which does exactly that ( Interestingly it is run by Nikhils mother- in-law.) - they discourage students and faculty from using sign language and equip their students with enough skills so they can be integrated into regular school after a certain point. I also watched an American television series called Switched at Birth which deals with issues of hearing impaired people very sensitively.

The show is yet to get its deserved ratings, do you think it will pick up soon?!

The business of ratings is something I don't understand. I do know that any change takes time to catch on. POW is a game changer in many ways and so I guess, it will take its time.

Have you been following POW? What are your views on the show apart from your own role?

I have, of course, read all scripts. I am not fully up to date with watching all episodes - thanks to a super hectic shooting schedule. But I have watched about 15 episodes. I like the pace of the show. Not too fast and not too slow. I like the scale of it and I like many of the performances and the lovely original track called Dhaage composed by Arjunaa Harjai.
