I am not aware if they are introducing a new love interest for Kapil Sharma in the show - Sumona Chakravarti
Kapil Sharma teasing his onstage wife Sumona Chakravarti in The Kapil Sharma Show is one of the highlights from the program. But, lately, Sumona has been missing from the show. In a candid chat with a popular daily, Sumona was asked about it.
To which she said, "I don't know. We have shot many gags and there are many of my episodes in the bank. I had also gone to Switzerland, so I missed quite a few episodes when Salman Khan and other celebrities were on the show. When they will air my slot is a call the creative guys will take. I just love my work and don't think of anything else."
She was further asked about the rumours of she being replaced and a new love interest to be introduced for Kapil. "That's a question you should ask Kapil Sharma. I am just a part of the team and I follow the script. I don't get into that aspect of how much air time they are slotting for me. I have been working for the last 10 years and I got my due very late in this industry, but all this does not bother me. Anyway, I am not a Salman Khan or a Shah Rukh Khan who can control the creative part of an episode. I am not aware if they are introducing a new love interest; people should understand that I am not involved in the decision-making process," she stated.
There have been several rumours of Sumona tying the knot to her filmmaker beau and family friend Samrat Mukherjee in December. Sumona rubbished all the speculations by saying, "Why don't you all wait until December to see if I am getting married? No, I am not getting married and don't wish to. Why can't people see a single, independent woman live her life happily? If at all I decide to get married, why will it be a secret? Samrat is a great friend and I just bump into him during Durga puja festivities. Yes, he has a house here in Santacruz where I meet him and we catch up on each other's lives but that's it. Otherwise, we are too busy to even meet each other. I believe in 'Que sera sera', so if marriage is meant to happen, it will happen. If you ask me, I would be happy in a companionship with a man. Everything does not have to culminate in marriage."
Now, that puts all rumours to the rest!
