Ranveer Singh is your Bollywood package; he'll get back the 'Govinda' dance into Bollywood again!- Geeta Kapur
Music and Dance as a source of entertainment have always been an integral and vital part of Bollywood. Though the changing eras brought about a drastic change in the actors' style, but the lead pair singing and dancing to the tunes of the songs in their movies has always been a must!
Dance today serves a variety of western forms like Paso-Doble, Salsa, Jive and many more. These dance forms undoubtedly have their own beauty and grace. But somewhere, the style where an artist danced straight from the heart and also through the facial expressions, is something that one does not get to see that often.
Yes! Call it a typical dhinchak Govinda style, whose songs from the 90s era still dwell on people's minds, is something that we do not often get to see these days! The dance steps then were performed with so much ease that simply made the audiences get up from their seats and start grooving to the beats exactly the way, a Govinda, Raveena or Karisma would have done!
We couldn't help but raise the question to the beautiful dancer and choreographer Geeta Kapur at the launch of her new show, Super Dancer. Geeta immediately agreed to us and said, "I think the audience misses that style! You see, that was the essence of dance. When you say Govinda, you are talking about complete madness while dancing. I think that is soon going to come back and I feel Ranveer Singh is going to bring it back, he is going to bring back that madness! Because when a Tattad Tattad becomes famous, it shows that people want to see that style, that kind of dancing again!"
She further said, "Ranveer Singh is your Bollywood star! He's got everything! He's a complete package; he's got the energy, the love, and passion for dancing! He might not do a twist, flip, and acrobats just the way a Tiger Shroff would do but then that is his style, his USP. If you are talking about Bollywood dancing, then it has to be Ranveer Singh! He is the one."
Well, it's been long since we have seen a 'Kisi disco mein jaaye' or 'Ankhiyon se goli maare' kinda dance on the big screen!
Are you listening Ranveer?!
