Sasural Simar Ka to go off-air after 5 years?
Colors' Sasural Simar Ka recently completed 1600 episodes and has been on-air for over 5 years. It has been one of the top shows for the channel.
But recently it received a lot of flak for copying a promo style from the famous English drama series, Game of Thrones. They also were a victim of mockery when their titular character Simar (Dipika Kakar) turned into a makkhi. They even had a leap on the show and Simar and Prem's (Dheeraj Dhoopar) kids became the main focus.
According to an entertainment portal, the show is set to go off-air in the next two months. Their TRP's have been dwindling down. When the entertainment portal contacted Varun Sharma who is a part of the show, he said, "I don't have an idea about this. We haven't been notified by the makers about any such news. I am certain the show will work better, as the leap track is really interesting. And not that the TRPs are an absolute fall; we are still doing better than several other shows on the same channel. So, we are certain the ratings will get better and the show will stay."
So are you sad or relieved that the show may finally be over?
