Naughtiness and charm are what is synonymous to Lord Krishna. The one who played a vital role in the historic events of Mahabharata is worshiped by everyone. The act of 'dahi-handi' which was practiced by Krishna is now religiously followed by his devotees on his birth anniversary.

On account of Janmashtami today, TV actors talk about the fun-filled festival and how they celebrate it.

Shashank Vyas - I like to see decorated jhankis on Janmashtami. The feeling of the festival is serene. I do have friends who are firm believers of it the lord. I like to go to Iskon temple on this day and enjoy the prasad, the special halwa! I even like to hear dahi-handi songs too.

Saurabh Pandey - I have never broken any matka but it will be exciting to try once. Hopefully, one day I might get a chance. I have seen many people breaking the dahi-handi and it's a tough job. It needs a lot of balance, practice, and concentration. I have always been fond of Janmashtami as I am bhakt of Lord Krishna and have played the role of Krishna in  Suryaputra Karn. I believe that really changed my life, I'm at more peace with myself.

Aniruddh Dave -  Dahi-handi is always fun. I have broken the handis a couple of times. I was called as Kanhaiya in my hometown, Jaipur. I have been to Mathura too which is Lord Krishna's birthplace. One day, I would like to play Lord Krishna in a show or a film.

Asmita Sood - My family is an ardent follower of Lord Krishna. In fact, my mom has adopted Krishna as her own son and at home, he is taken care of just like a member of the family. I don't call myself a devotee but yes I definitely follow and observe this festival as he is considered family for us. The festival is celebrated lavishly at home with 56 kinds of bhog and Krishna is dressed up in yellow attire. There is a cradle made for him with flowers and all day bhajans are played for him. As a child, I remember the excitement of the festival, I used to stay up till 12am for Janamashtami and once in a while we used to visit ISKCON temple in Delhi which used to be decked up so beautifully with flowers on this special day.

Jasmin Bhasin - The fondest memory of my childhood is going to see Krishna Jhankis at midnight. I am more of a spiritual person than religious so I don't really worship Lord idols. I believe in presence of Lord everywhere around us but with Krishna, I have always had a special bond. During my college days when I first started living alone and used to be really depressed because of loneliness, I use to see Laddu Gopalji (baby Krishna) in my dreams and then I got myself Laddoo Gopalji who took care of me and always guided during my journey. I feel his blessings always around me.

Krrip Kapur Suri - I am from Delhi and Janmasthmi is celebrated in a big way there. I always pray to lord Krishna. I like to see decorated Jhakis of Krishna, indulge in kheer and puri (prasad) on this occasion. Personally, I love eating white makhan with parathas, Krishna's favourite.

Ankit Bathla - I have always been the Govind since I was young. Mom would dress me up like the deity and all the neighbours would get makhan for me. It was great fun. Krishna is in everyone. He is associated with naughtiness, power, justice, and beauty. I have attended a lot of courses at ISKON and I am always left in awe of Krishna.

Jay Soni -   I recently got the offer to essay the role of Lord Krishna in a TV show. This will be the first time I will be playing God and will be seen clean shaven. Playing Lord Krishna and that too, I will be seen during Janmashtami, was a strong reason for me to take up the role. I am Lord Krishna believer and like his persona and aura.
