I Just Don't Understand Why TV Stars Are Still Looked Down Upon! - Karishma Tanna
The tall and beautiful Karishma Tanna knows how to not mince words! Being blunt and talking her mind is something that comes naturally to her. Soon to be seen on Colors reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, the actress has now put her dancing shoes on! The pretty woman has of late been on her toes with rehearsals, promotions and performances. Yet, she sneaked out a little time from her busy schedule to talk to us.
KT, as she is fondly known as had taken a sabbatical from TV, to try her luck in Bollywood a while ago. Karishma unfortunately could not make it big in B-Town. But the actress is not unhappy about it and is happy and content in her current space. She considers that she was just not at the right place at the right time while trying her luck in Bollywood. She also states that she was either rejected for her tall height or for simply being a television face. "I mean like why! Television actors are such talented actors. I don't know whether they were looking down upon me being a TV star or what! I recently read an article of Rajeev Khandelwal where he has beautifully stated that a film actor can only entertain the crowd for five days, but a TV star entertains all seven days like from Monday to Sunday and at times, it goes on for years. Still why are TV stars looked down upon is something I fail to understand. Have we ever seen Bollywood celebs compete amongst themselves on a platform like JDJ or anything else. It's always TV stars who compete amongst themselves and are judged by Bollywood celebs. The irony is that too will air on Television. So why look down upon that medium. I hope the scenario changes soon."
Talking about her on going journey in JDJ, the actress gets all pepped up! "The competition is going to be one real tough one this time considering the voting format has also changed. Everybody is so good! You just can't pick up one contestant and say that he is perfect. Whomsoever is performing on stage this time is simply nailing it. The choreographers are also saying that this is the toughest season of JDJ ever. If you look at my past experiences with reality shows, I think the tough seasons of reality shows and I go hand in hand," Says Karishma who seemed to be excited to explore her dancing abilities in depth.
