Gaurav Gera watches Kiku Sharda’s videos as Palak to get his moves right on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa
Celebrity Dance Reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa is already set to sizzle on the small screen with its new season set to air on COLORS. Among the 12 celebrity contestants who will be competing for the coveted Jhalak trophy, audiences will get to see funny man Gaurav Gera donning his Chutki avatar and taking to the dance floor with much masti and dhamaal.
Despite mastering the skill of dressing up as a woman and showcasing her quirks, Gaurav found it difficult to showcase the dance moves and emulating a woman’s grace as she puts on a strong dance performance. The accessories that help the stand-up comic amplify Chutki’s image are also proving to be a hindrance during rehearsals, especially the wig which slips off with each dancing move.
In an attempt to make his act worthy of the Jhalak stage, the actor has started pouring through the different videos of the contestant of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa contestant, Kiku Sharda who took to the stage in his well-loved and appreciated Palak avatar, to get some tips on making his performance better.
Gaurav who found the videos to be a guiding light said, “When I agreed to perform as ‘Chutki’, I had no idea what I was getting into; playing a woman and dancing like one are two very different things, and I realized that during the rehearsals. I commend Kiku for the way he performed week after week with complete enthusiasm. Am not used to wearing heels but am trying to not just walk but dance in them .. Coz I wanna do it like a challenge ...”
