"Pratyusha was not pregnant," says Boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh
It was reported that Pratyusha Banerjee was pregnant before she committed suicide. But as per a popular daily, her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh have denied these rumours stating, "Pratyusha was not pregnant and everybody is saying that sources have confirmed her pregnancy, but why is nobody asking the doctor?" Rahul was seen at Bangur police station, to co-operate with the cops for the investigation. Talking to media, he stated, "I have not been able to come to terms with the fact that she is no more. I still feel that she has gone to a friend's place and I should just call her back home."
He further talked about the allegations by Pratyusha's parents on him. He added, "I am still wondering why her family did not say anything in their first statement to the police. They are being influenced by some publicity freaks who are making her parents level allegations against me." However, the doctors from JJ hospital have confirmed Pratyusha was pregnant and might have undergone an abortion or miscarriage before she took a drastic step of committing suicide. Dr TP Lahane, the dean of JJ hospital said, "We have submitted the report to the police. We cannot reveal the details of the findings."
When another leading daily asked Pratyusha's parents about her pregnancy, her father said they had no idea about her pregnancy or abortion. He added, "Had she mentioned it even once, we would have come running across 2,000km, to be with her and take care of both." Balika Vadhu actress parents have moved the case from Bombay high court to crime branch for a probe of her Rahul, who is on a pre-arrest bail. The hearing is reported to be held today.
Pratyusha's father further said, "Our concern is that a murder should not be given the colour of a suicide. She was a go-getter, full of spunk and full of life, excelling at her career at such a young age. When she was eight, her presence of mind saved me when we met. I was on my scooter, Pratyusha standing in front, on our way to pick up her mother in the evening when a dumper hit us from behind. I fractured my hand and fingers, but Pratyusha flagged down a vehicle, saying, `Mere papa ko bachao' and I was rushed to the hospital, where the doctor said a delay of 10 minutes would have cost me my life. Now, I have lost my life. The FIR was registered as a suicide but the cops never read out what they wrote in Marathi to Soma, who spoke in Hindi." Pratyusha's mother also added, "I even told them to show the section, as I had said, `Usko mara hain', but they did not.How do you explain the bruises on her face if it was a case of suicide?"
The petition submitted in the court stated, "The circumstances surrounding the death and Rahul's behaviour since raising strong suspicion about it being murder." Pratyusha's mother revealed that her daughter knew about Rahul being married earlier and was even in a relationship with another girl and due to this, Pratyusha wanted to file a case against him and she concluded stating, "The accused planned the murder and successfully portrayed it as suicide."
