Who doesn't know Nikhil Chinapa? He carries himself with a class and girls are in praises for his fashion sense. He was the host of MTV Splitsvilla Season 9 with Sunny Leone and both just slayed it. Now, Nikhil Chinapa is all set to take the Roadies journey as a judge and was in news for replacing Karan Kundrra. In an interview with us, he opened up on Karan's slapgate controversy and also talked about his journey from being an architect to judging a show.

Excerpts from the interview:

From a DJ to becoming a host to now a judge, how has been the entire journey?

My career has been a bit of a roller-coaster ride and lots lots of fun. I started off as an architect, I did a thesis in Hospital Design and then joined NCB. While being an architect, I was also a radio presenter. Then I became a dj and then I became a judge on Roadies and then a host on Splitsvilla. Then, I started doing music festivals and I have also launched my own clothing line. A lot of things are happening in my professional life.

How excited are you to be a part of the Roadies journey?

Oh, I am very kicked about it and the show has changed a lot ever since I was a part of it as a judge. The format of the show has changed a lot as it has become more layered and intense. The competition is not just between the contestants, but between the judges also and we are friends in real life.

The town is buzzing with the reports that you have replaced Karan Kundrra after he slapped a contestant. What do you think about the whole slapgate controversy?

I have no idea how these reports got out. That's not why Karan left the show, he has a another assignment and the dates were clashing. The channel got in touch with me and asked whether I would want to step into his shoes because he has already chosen his gang and the only thing which was left was to finalize the gang which all the gang leaders do together. So he and I did it together and we discussed about the gang members. I have no idea of how this story got started as he is currently shooting in UK and that's the reason he couldn't be part of the Roadies journey. I think in India everyone loves a little controversy (laughs).

As you are teaming up with Rannvijay again, what do you have to say about it?

Well, Rannvijay has been a part of Roadies since its inception. He is the original Roadie and still is. He knows the show better than anyone of us. But the other gang members and gang leaders have also figured out how to play the game. Both Rannvijay and I have busy lives and we both are looking forward to spend time with other each other and traveling together.

Talking about Rannvijay, have you got a chance to meet his daughter?

No, not yet. She is with his wife in the UK right now. I have seen her photographs and I just want to bite her cheeks. She is very adorable.

Well, a lot of people went gaga over you and Sunny Leone hosting Splistvilla Season 9. Will we get to see you again as the host of the next season?

I have no idea and I didn't expect hosting MTV Splitsvilla. This was the decision the channel took and I went along. Sunny is the most professional person I have ever met in the Television industry. She is a remarkable person to work with. She is extremely genuine and she wears heart on her sleeves.
