In a candid conversation with us, Mithila aka Meera Sehgal elaborated on her role in the series. "It's a story of Meera Sehgal hailing from a small town who makes way to Mumbai to pursue her aspirations, her dreams! It is a fun story!" While talking to about the similarities between the real life Mithila and reel life Meera, the curly haired actress says, "Well, Meera is very confident and loves to take up challenges. She is not scared of trying something new and that's how I am in real life as well. If there is something that I want to do I will definitely try to do it and not just let it go." Further the trained classical singer on talking about how she bagged the role in web series, stated, "I had earlier auditioned for Amritpal Singh and Anand Tiwari, the co-founders of the Still & Still Moving Pictures company, who are the makers of this series along with Bindass. They asked me to audition for this web series. After which I met Samar Shaikh, the director of the series who took my audition, and here I am!"
The pretty lady convincingly has played the role of Meera in the web series. The sheer innocence perfectly blended with an excitement and enthusiasm of wanting to make it big in the city of dreams within a short time span allotted by her parents, has been portrayed finely by Mithila in the form of Meera. "If a person wants to make it big, they can and they will! The place that they come from doesn't matter, whether small town or big," said Mithila. While TV actors are foraying into Bollywood, the young lady says, "Who does not want to work in Bollywood. But right now I am occupied with the series. And I do not see myself doing daily TV soaps!" While talking about her cup beat song that took the internet by storm, said that she had never expected the video to go viral. "It was just another comment on a previous video of mine which asked me to blend the cup beat rhythm with a Marathi song. I have been fond of old songs in Marathi as well and this was just like fulfilling the commenter's wish! I had no clue it will strike a chord with millions of people and would be loved by not just the common man but also ace artists like Paresh Rawal, Imtiaz Ali and many more. It's a great feeling!"
Well, truly the Marathi mulgi knows how to nail it each time; whether at her cup beat rendition or now as Meera Sehgal in Girl in the City!
