Mahabharat : Shikhandini becomes Shikhandi!
In Star Plus' 'Mahabharat', Shikhandini's pratigya is disturbed and she decides to end her life so that she can kill Bhishma Pitamah in her next. She lights a fire and start walking through it. Meanwhile, Duryodhana discusses with Shakuni and Karna that Bhishma Pitamah can only be killed if he surrenders his weapon and that will happen only in front of a woman and that means only Shikhandini can kill him but as women cannot enter the battlefield, Bhishma Pitamah will never die. Karna tells him to be alert but his concerns are dismissed.
The Pandavas raise concern over the war raging on forever without any winner because as long as Bhishma Pitamah is alive because even if he does not kill anyone any more, he will continue to guard the Kauravas and hence he must be killed. Draupadi talks about Shikhandini and reminds them of Mahadev's promise to her that the day she joins herself with a great task, she would get the opportunity to kill Bhishma Pitamah, Just then Shikhandini enters in the avatar of a man and it is revealed that when she had walked into the fire, she had met with Yakshraj and had asked him to fulfill his promise to turn her into a man for a day. She is now Shikhandi and will remain so till the next day's sunset. Shikhandi tells Draupadi that after Bhishma Pitamah is killed, she will be ousted from the world but Draupadi should not feel bad about it because this war would restore dharma in the world.
Shakuni reveals to Duryodhana about Shikhandini becoming Shikhani and asks him to order Bhishma Pitamah to not enter the battlefield at all tomorrow as Shikhandini's avatar as Shikhandi will last only till the sunset next day. However Bhishma Pitamah refuses to obey Duryodhana's order and tells him that he has been waiting since long for Amba and that he would surrender his weapons for forever at sunset tomorrow.
The Pandavas are upset about having to kill Bhishma Pitamah. Draupadi talks about how the heart is unable to understand the logic of the mind in a war and asks Krishna to advice them. Krishna tells them about human nature where one always questions themselves just before reaching their aim and though that makes them intelligent, it also makes them fail. Yudhistra asks him to tell them how to go about this contradiction but Krishna tells them that only Bhishma Pitamah has the answer to this question.
In the upcoming episode, Bhishma Pitamah will declare in front of the Pandavas and Draupadi that he will now surrender his weapons. What will happen next? Will Shikhandini be able to fulfill her promise to herself?
