Mahabharat : Krishna explains the three gunas to Arjuna
In Star Plus’ ‘Mahabharat’, Krishna continues to teach Arjuna about Geeta by telling him that all human bodies have the same composition but their behaviour and mental makeup are different and this difference is because of the three gunas – Tamas, Sattva and Rajas.
He explains all the three gunas to Arjuna who thinks about Duryodhana, Dushyasana, Bhishma and Dronacharya with regard to the same and reaches the conclusion that they all have Rajas guna in them and are therefore away from the truth of the almighty and are on the path of wrongdoing or adharma.
Krishna then tells Arjuna about the soul and how even when the body is destroyed, the soul remains intact as it is eternal and that every soul should hence try and understand the almighty and on Arjuna's doubt that what we experience, we do with the body, Krishna corrects him by telling him that the soul captures the knowledge and directs behaviour and therefore those who do wrong actually have forgotten that the soul is God's gift and in that regard a part of the almighty himself. Therefore when Arjuna would kill someone, he would only get rid of their body while their souls would be free to find the meaning of dharma all over again.
He goes on to explain to Arjuna that sometimes in the world, adharma takes precedence over dharma and to make sure that rightness is restored, war against adharma must be fought and therefore he must get ready for the war.
The upcoming episodes will see Arjuna asking Krishna if he is the almighty to which Krishna agrees and asks for Arjuna’s complete devotion to him.
