Mahabharat : Dronacharya new senapati for Kauravas; Arjuna battles against Karna
In Star Plus’ Mahabharat, Shakuni advises Duryodhana to not let Dronacharya leave the war as he is a very important force on their side. Karna agrees with him and asks Duryodhana to honor Dronacharya with the title of Sarva-Senapati as what he wants to do is break Arjuna’s gandiva. The changed decision is then relayed to Dronacharya who declines it but Karna is able to convince him. Duryodhana puts a condition before Dronacharya before he accepts the position that he will kill the Pandavas and not take them as prisoners or be at all lenient. This angers Dronacharya and he decides to surrender his arms. Ashwathama tries to convince him but Dronacharya is adamant. Ashwathama then reminds his father of the vow he made to his mother to always protect him and himself vows to face Arjuna and Dronacharya is left with no option but to agree. Duryodhana asks Dronacharya to make a war plan which will put the Pandavas on back foot, who identifies Arjuna as their central power. Duryodhana tells him that Karna will take up the responsibility to kill Arjuna.
Its the 11th day of the war and Krishna advises Arjuna to not forget Karna’s powers and be mindful of them. Bheema vows to kill 99 Kauravas and in the end kill Durodhana. Meanwhile Gandhari asks helpers to close all the doors so that the lamps she has lit for her sons will not be blown out. Sanjay informs Dhritrashtra about Dronacharya being the new Senapati for the Kauravas and about his aim to have killed Arjuna by the end of the day.
Arjuna and Karna battle against each other. Arjuna promises Karna that no one would come between this battle when Karna taunts him about Bheeshma Pitamah saving him every time. Karna vows to destroy Arjuna’s gandiva and prove himself to be the better of the two.
In the upcoming episode, Bheema starts his battle against the Kaurava brothers. Will Arjuna be able to defeat Karna? And will Bheema be able to honour his vow to kill all the Kaurava brothers?
