Best TV actors of 2018: From Nakuul Mehta to Harshad Chopda, television hunks who outdid themselves
From Nakuul Mehta to Adnan Khan, Vivian Dsena to Harshad Chopda, here's our pick of the best television actors of 2018.
2018 has brought a number of new shows to our Television screens, and while we've had new comes too, there have been some amazing performances from our actors irrespective of how the show has faired in terms of TRPs. While there have been shows that have had a hard time to stay put, there have been some which continue to go strong and how. And well, it wouldn't be incorrect to say that the as much as the writers and the directors, the actors too work hard on the shows show that they do well.
Indian television has a number of actors, each with their own genre and each having their own way with the characters they play. While we love to see some in the same old characters that they've totally aced over the years, we were also presented with fresh angles to the male characters on Indian television. And as 2018 comes to an end, we think that these actors do deserve some appreciation for all the work they've done over the year. Here's our pick of the best actors from 2018:
Nakuul Mehta
And all that JaZz .... #Ishqbaaaz Poster shot: @ayushdas
Nakuul has been on the block for about two and a half years now as Shivaay Singh Oberoi, and now as his son, Shivaansh Singh Oberoi. He has added the kind of charm to the character that we know for a fact that no one could. He has all this truckload of charm that we can never get enough of, both on-screen and off-screen. He has managed to build chemistry with Surbhi Chandna as if it comes effortlessly, and it all just perfectly transpires on-screen.
Harshad Chopda
Harshad made his much-awaited comeback with Bepannaah, and while the show saw an abrupt ending owing to the TRPs, we did love him in the show. Fans were elated about his acting, and they still drool over those shirtless scenes from the first week of the show. Harshad is a phenomenal actor, and he has proved so at multiple instances; it was no different with Bepannaah as he successfully made it all seem just perfect.
Mohsin Khan
Mohsin Khan in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has done immensely well, and as the show continues to witness its ups and downs as far as TRPs are concerned, the acting game has been strong. With the generation leap in the show, when actors Shivangi Joshi and Mohsin entered, there were doubts about if they'd be able to match up to what Karan Mehra and Hina Khan had done for the show, and well, let's just say they did better.
Parth Samthaan
Parth has been a part of youth based shows, and he has a huge fan following, which of course was excited when the news about him doing a daily soap first came in. Doing a reboot version of an iconic show like Kasautii Zindagii Kay is a big responsibility, and Parth as Anuraag Basu has played it well. He also put out great chemistry with Erica Fernandes and the show has also been fetching decent numbers.
Shakti Arora
Qaidi hai sab yahan, koi khwab ka koi khwashiyon ka!
Shakti Arora as Dr Kunal Malhotra in Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka has been a good shift for him as an actor and there is no doubting how he is well suited to the character as well. Shakti has been a part of other shows as well, and we bet you'd agree that he has evolved as an actor. His character sketch is extremely complicated as he plays a married man who falls in love with his wife's best friend, and he has pulled it off really well.
Vivian Dsena
Full of Colors @colorstv #Ganpativisarjan
Vivian Dsena is one of the most versatile actors we have on Indian Television, and we've seen him play an arrogant rock star, a vampire, and now, a man who is in love with a transgender. His career graph has been such that has gone only up, and he has proved his acting prowess every time he has come up on the television screens. With Shaktii...Astitiva Ke Ehsaas Kii, we've seen multiple transitions in his character, all of which he has played beautifully.
Adnan Khan
Adnan Khan has made his TV debut with Ishq Subhan Allah, and oh boy, how everyone is super impressed with him. He has done a phenomenal job as Kabir Ahmad, and not only do girls drool over him, but he has also created a statement with his acting. Eisha Singh and he also have incredible chemistry, and the two have found a fanbase quite quickly with their pairing on the show.
