UNICEF Day is celebrated on December 11th every year
"If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one." -Mother Teresa
UNICEF or United Nations International Children’s Educational Fund is celebrated on December 11th every year. The body was created by the UN General Assembly at the insistence of Polish physician Ludwik Rajchman. UNICEF is responsible for providing humanitarian aid to children all over the World. Former Miss World and actress, producer and singer, Priyanka Chopra Jonas is an active member of the UNICEF and recently she was also honoured for her incredible work towards the organisation. “I can testify to what UNICEF means to children because I was among those who received food and medical relief right after World War II." -Audrey Hepburn
UNICEF came to India about 70 years ago in 1949. The body works in over 190 countries. It’s main aim is to protect the children’s rights, provide them with education and help them in becoming better individuals. "Of those who die from avoidable, poverty-related causes, nearly 10 million, according to UNICEF, are children under five. They die from diseases such as measles, diarrhoea, and malaria that are easy and inexpensive to treat or prevent." -Peter Singer. From promoting gender equality to helping children with disabilities, discussing climate change and the social inclusion of underprivileged children, UNICEF helps with all these important pointers with children all over the World. UNICEF’s main goal is to give every child the chance to grow up healthy, happy and safe’.

"Around the world, children are showing us their strength and leadership advocating for a more sustainable world for all. Let's build on advances and re-commit to putting children first. For every child, every right." -UN Secretary-General António Guterres

Like we mentioned earlier, Chopra Jonas has been an active member of the UNICEF. Time and again we have seen her dedicating her time and energy towards the organisation. Priyanka has also been a part of the UN's global “Girl Up” campaign. WIth this it propagates a World where all the girls all around the World should be educated, well fed, be healthy, safe and should also be positioned to become the next World leaders.
Children are the flowers from heaven. Let’s make this world a safe and enjoyable place for our kids.
