“I have been telling time and again that I have an Indian passport, even after marriage I have been playing for India. I don’t know why I have to justify that I am an Indian?”

These are the words of a heartbroken Sania Mirza, who being an Indian, became a target of some communal politician’s racist comment.

K Laxman, BJP MLA, Telangana, had said a few days ago that Sania does not qualify for being the Telangana brand ambassador as she is “Pakistan’s daughter-in-law”. Agree, Sania got married to a native of Pakistan, Shoaib Malik, but does that mean that we cut off our ties from our daughters once they go away after marrying to another land?

While talking to a news channel recently, Sania gave a befitting reply and broke down into tears. Watch what the brave girl had to say. We are proud of you Sania.
