Lok Sabha Results 2019: Pakistan PM Imran Khan, Russian President Vladimir Putin wish PM Modi on BJP victory
With a clear majority, the BJP managed to sweep 294 seats on its own, which is better than the 282 seats it had won in the 2014 general elections.
The 2019 Lok Sabha results are out and the Modi wave has clearly taken over the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to thank India. Congratulatory messages are in order and wishes poured in from all over the world for the 68-year-old leader and the Bhartiya Janata Party. PM Modi tweeted, "Thank you India! The faith placed in our alliance is humbling and gives us strength to work even harder to fulfil people's aspirations. I salute every BJP Karyakarta for their determination, perseverance & hardwork. They went home to home, elaborating on our development agenda."

While BJP crossed the 300 mark, Congress has struggled to stay afloat as well as the other political parties. Various personalities took to Twitter to wish PM Modi on his historic win.
One of the first few wishes came in from Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan who said that he "looks forward to working with him for peace in South Asia". Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed al Nahyan also extended his heartiest congratulations to PM Narendra Modi, reported ANI. Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc also has written to PM Narendra Modi congratulating him.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also congratulated PM Modi on the convincing victory of BJP. "I am convinced that, as the Prime Minister of India, you will further strengthen the centuries-old friendship between our peoples and the all-round development of a particularly privileged strategic partnership between Russia and India," Putin said in a congratulatory message.
