Karwa Chauth 2019: Wishes, Messages and Images in Hindi to share with your friends and family

Karwa Chauth is one of the famous and significant fasting festivals in India. The festival is mainly celebrated with full devotion in northern region of India such as Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh among others. The festival is mostly observed by married women, as they fast all day for the longevity and well-being of their husbands. Even unmarried women fast for their prospective grooms. Also, nowadays Karwa Chauth fasting is observed by some husbands as well for the well-being of their partners and also to boost their morale. The fast of Karwa Chauth is very strict and fasting women cannot eat or drink until they see the moon in the evening. They break their fast by reading vrat katha and performing puja vidhis.

As per Hindu Lunisolar calendar, the festival falls on the fourth day after full moon, in the month of Kartik. After observing the nirjala fast for the whole day, women offer prayers to Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati and Lord Kartik. On this day, fasting women wake up before sunrise to eat sargi, which is a pre-dawn meal and other goodies which are given by mothers-in-law to their daughters-in-law. After sargi, one has to observe fast without eating anything. Once the moon is spotted, the puja and rituals are performed and women break their fast by drinking water. Later, scrumptious feast is enjoyed by all.
