It has been long since India became independent, but the feudal mindset that thrives on the belief of having a male heir is the reason why the sex ratio in the country is so poor! For every 1000 boys, there are only 919 girls. This shows that our nation has grown in size but not in heart so as to be kind enough to the girl child and make way for her to grow like never before.
But there is still hope that some day, the nation will rise and awake from its deep slumber.
