She works in the fields for a living and earns the status of an ideal lady in the village. She sets the best example of her high morals when she kills her misguided son towards the climax.

Hrishikesh Mukherjee's classic is about a happy-go-lucky man, called Anand (Rajesh Khanna). The fact that he is suffering from the terminal disease of cancer but still keeps smiling and believes in spreading happiness, is the ultimate message of the film, brilliantly delivered by the veteran actor.
