Sony is bringing 2018 God of War to PC

Sony has announced that the game will be released on Steam on January 14th. Sony said their primary goal in porting God of War to PC was to highlight the exceptional content created by the team and to take advantage of the platform's powerful hardware to create a truly breathtaking and high-performance version of the game

"A wide range of graphical presets" are included in God of War for PC. Players with a powerful PC can expect improved shadow resolution and screen space reflections. GTAO and SSDO also provide support for ambient occlusion.

Sony Santa Monica's Grace Orlady said. "You'll be able to enjoy the full potential of our cinematic, no-cut camera as it follows Kratos and Atreus across the realms with the option of true 4K resolution, on supported devices, and unlocked frame rates."

The game also supports Nvidia Reflex for better latency and has "full integration" with Nvidia's Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS). God of War for PC will also include keyboard mapping and "robust controller support" for the DualShock, DualSense, and other supported gamepads, as well as 21:9 ultra-widescreen support.

The full system requirements for God of War on PC have yet to be revealed, though the Steam page does state that 80 GB of free space is required. Sony has not stated whether the game will be sold in stores other than Steam.

Sony also confirmed that God of War had sold 19.5 million copies on PS4 alone as of August 2021. God of War's PC release will expand the game's potential audience by a huge margin.
It's no surprise that Sony is bringing God of War to PC, as a PC version was leaked in September. It's also a sign of the times for Sony, as more of its first-party franchises are being ported to PC. Horizon: Zero Dawn and Days Gone were previously released for PC, and Uncharted games will be released in 2022.
