M.2 SSD Storage Expansion Support

Sony launched its most awaited next-generation PlayStation 5 back in 2020, ever since the launch of the console the company is facing huge shortage of stock and it has been declared that the shortage will remain constant until 2022. Amidst fulfilling the demand of gaming enthusiasts across the globe the company is also indulged in improving the device with all possible aspects. Recently, the company has launched a beta software program for select PS5 users in the US, Japan, Canada, Germany, UK, and France to test the M.2 SSD Storage. 

Now Sony is all set to launch the full version of the update today which includes 3D Audio support for built-in TV speakers. We can expect a software update for the PS4 as well and the mobile applications today with some exciting new features. The system software update will be released today globally, let’s have a closer look at the feature which are going to arrive with the update.

  

UX Enhancement feature

The PS5 gets UX enhancements that will help the users to personalize the console and gaming content. Gaming enthusiasts can customize their control center more easily after the update. They can even send messages to friends directly from the game base in the control center.

The Playstation Now subscribers can select the resolution for game streaming. They even get a streaming test feature that lets them know about the errors in their connection. 

3D Audio support for built-in TV speakers

The 3D Audio support is one of the cool features that Sony has offered in the September Software update. This feature transforms the audio from the TV speakers to three-dimensional sound, it enhances the gameplay immersions. The users can measure the audio in the room by using a mic on the dual sense controller, and then they can apply 3D Audio settings that are suitable to their room. 

Beta Test Results

The M.2 SSD Storage support passed the beta test successfully and mostly all the users appreciated the feature. This storage support can be used to launch the PS5 and PS4 games, and also download or copy them.

Update for PS App users

The PS App users will get an update that allows them to view the share screen broadcasts with friends such that the user can join a party and then tell his friend who is already playing a PS5 game to start the share screen broadcast.
