Battlegrounds Mobile India surpasses 34 million downloads and 16 million daily users
Krafton's CEO Kim Chang Han confirmed that within a week the game has garnered more than 34 million downloads on the Google Play Store.
Another day another success story for Battlegrounds Mobile India, the online battle royal game has achieved some insane number which is going to astonish you. BGMI has created a new record by gaining more than 34 million downloads within the first week of release. It seems that the game has received a really warm welcome from the country and the numbers are telling the truth. The first-ever esports tournament was also a huge success for the company and the live stream of the tournament has also broken many records.
BGMI crossed 34 million downloads
Krafton released BGMI officially a week ago with a total of 40 million pre-registrations. Starting today the company released the total number of downloads via its official blog post. Krafton's CEO Kim Chang Han confirmed that within a week the game has garnered more than 34 million downloads on the Google Play Store. Meanwhile, the game has also climbed to the top of the Free Games charts and also acquired the second position on the Highest Grossing leaderboard of the Play Store.
Besides, the company also revealed that its maximum concurrent users have witnessed a peak of 2.4 million. While the game currently has 16 million daily active users. The blog post further added that the company is planning to expand its PUBG IP in India by organizing exclusive eSports leagues and tournaments for Indian gaming enthusiasts.
Lim Woo-yeol, general manager of PUBG Mobile Headquarters, said, “Thank you for your enthusiastic support from Indian users. We will continue to work hard to develop content to provide more fun.” He said, “Starting with ‘Battlegrounds Mobile India’, I hope that Krafton and India’s game and e-sports industries will grow together.”
Meanwhile, the BGMI fans are waiting for the launch of the game on the iOS device and it seems that the game will also achieve such big numbers once it goes live on the App Store. Krafton has also confirmed that it's working hard to release the game on the iOS device as soon as possible.
