Battlegrounds Mobile India confirmed the deadline for Facebook data transfers

PUBG Mobile aka Battlegrounds Mobile India is all set to shut down data transfers with Facebook accounts. Krafton has already announced this news for the BGMI players via a press release and now it seems that D-day is around the corner. At the time of launch, the game developers allowed users to retrieve their PUBG Mobile account and transfer it to BGMI. In the latest announcement, the game developers have announced that the company will soon stop the transfer feature due to a policy update. Recently, Krafton has also announced the winners of its Get Ready To Jump event and it was also reported that the game developers have banned 1,95,500 accounts indulged in hacking.

BGMI to shut down Facebook account transfer

PUBG Mobile was banned in India due to privacy reasons and the company relaunched the game with a rebranded name in July this year. As mentioned above the game allows players to carry forward their existing PUBG Mobile accounts to BGMI. But this was only eligible for a player who has created their accounts via Facebook or Twitter. According to the latest announcement, Krafton is shutting down the Facebook account transfer feature from September 28th, 2021. If you haven’t transferred your PUBG account data to BGMI then now you have the deadline.

The game developers have also announced that post-October 5th, the BGMI player has to install the Facebook app to log in to the game. However, the company does mention that the iOS users are unaffected by the new development.

“As we have previously informed you, in order to safely secure the data of fans from India who have played in PUBG Mobile Nordic Map: Livik ("Prior App"), we are providing data transfer option of PUBG Mobile Nordic Map: Livik ("Prior App") accounts linked with Facebook and Twitter to BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA ("New App").

However, logins with Facebook accounts in the embedded browser of Android devices will be disabled in the future, according to the policy update related to the Facebook SDK,” reads the official page.
