Yuvraj Singh's maiden innings in Global T20 League ends with a bizarre dismissal; watch here
Yuvraj Singh was playing his first Canada T20 league game, and was out for a laboured 14 off 27 balls that did not have a single boundary
A lot was expected from Yuvraj Singh as turned out for his maiden Global T20 league in Canada, which started from this week. Playing for the Toronto Nationals, Yuvi, who was captaining his side, however, had a debut to forget as he could manage only 14 in 27 balls.
While his knock was slow-paced, what made news was his dismissal in the game. He was wrongly given stumped out even though his feet were planted well inside the crease.
Yuvraj, batting at number 4 came out to bat with his side at 66 for 2. He played a laboured innings without hitting a single boundary and was affected by a back injury throughout his innings. He was looking to go over the top when he was dismissed by Rizwan Cheema.
The Indian edged the ball to the wicket-keeper Tobias Visee who could not hold on to the catch, and the ball then fell onto the stumps after hitting Visee's chest. The square leg umpire gave Yuvraj out.
However, replays showed that Yuvraj's feet were inside the crease when the bails were dislodged, which means that he was not out. The batsman though had walked back to the pavilion.
Toronto could only make 159 in their 20 overs, which was easily chased down by the Knights.
