Virat Kohli pays his tribute to late politician Sushma Swaraj on Twitter after she passed away on Tuesday
The former External Affairs minister passed away suddenly on Tuesday night after suffering a massive cardiac arrest. She was 67.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli condoned the death of former External Affairs minister Sushma Swaraj, who passed away on Tuesday night. The BJP minister, who was a part of the Union Government from 2014-2019 but opted out of contesting the polls this year due to health reasons, suffered a massive cardiac arrest and was taken to AIIMS in New Delhi. Despite attempts to revive her, Swaraj passed away.
Cricketers and sportsmen from across the nation came together to offer their tribute, and Indian skipper too took to Twitter to pay his respects.
"Deeply saddened by the news of Sushma Ji’s demise, may her soul rest in peace," Kohli tweeted.
Earlier yesterday, Swaraj had welcomed the revoking of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, and even thanked Narendra Modi for the historic move.
"Thank you Prime Minister. Thank you very much. I was waiting to see this day in my lifetime, Swaraj had tweeted."
Swaraj made a name for herself for helping out people from all nationals who were in distress and needed the Indian Embassy for assistance.
The 'People's Minister' was cremated at the Lodhi Crematorium at 3pm on Wednesday, as the Prime Minister and senior leader LK Advani broke down.
