Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar has lashed out at skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed saying that he doesn't deserve to lead the side and should continue playing only as a wicket-keeper batsmen. These words from the Pakistan quickie came after his side crashed out of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in the group stage itself. Akhtar feels that Sarfaraz should not lead the side in any format and it should be handed over to the upcoming stars of Pakistan cricket.
Akhtar said in his Youtube channel, "He should be used for his wicket keeping and batting skills. No way should he continue as captain of the team. He should not be the captain in any format."
The Rawalpindi pacer also named his replacements for Sarfaraz Ahmed across various formats. "Haris Sohail should be made the captain. He should captain the side in ODIs and T20Is. They should test Babar Azam in Test cricket. I wish him the best. He has scored lot of runs."
After Pakistan's exit from the group stage of World Cricket's premiere tournament, former World Cup skipper and current Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has announced that he will fix Pakistan cricket.
He said, "I went to England where I learned to play cricket. When we returned from there we raised the standard of other players. After the World Cup I have decided that I will fix the Pakistan cricket team. The team you see in the next World Cup , remember my words that team will be a professional team. We will fix the system and bring one in which the best talent comes forward."
